Cozy Care & Microwave Safety Guide

Thank you for choosing an Aunt Ren's Boundless Treasures! To help you get the best results and use your cozy safely for years to come, please read through these care and safety tips before your first use.

🍲 Microwave Use

• Always microwave with food or liquid inside a microwave safe bowl or dish. Never place a cozy in the microwave while the bowl is empty. The cozy is designed to hold heat from your food, heating it empty can damage the cozy and may be a fire hazard.
• It is recommended to use short intervals, heat your food in 1 minute increments up to 8 minutes, checking between intervals. Heating times vary based on your microwave's wattage and the food inside. 
• Monitor your food, never leave microwave unattended while in use. Stop immediately if you notice smoke, a burning smell, or unusual heat. Remove carefully, allow to cool fully, and do not continue use until you have inspected the cozy for damage.
• Use caution when removing from the microwave, the cozy is intended to make handling warm bowls more comfortable, but contents and dishes can still be very hot. Always use care.
• Not all microwaves heat the same way, if you are using a high-wattage microwave, reduce intervals accordingly. When in doubt, start with shorter time.
  

🧺 Washing & Drying

• Machine wash in cold or warm water on a gentle cycle. Avoid hot water, which can cause shrinkage or affect the batting over time.
• Air dry is recommended, reshape the cozy, lay flat or hang to dry. If you use a dryer, use a low heat setting. Touch up with iron if needed.
• Address food contact promptly, spills happen. To help prevent burns or your cozy catching fire wash and dry the cozy before using.

⚠️ Safety Reminders

• These cozies are handmade from cotton fabric and batting. They are not fireproof or flame-resistant.
• Keep away from open flames and stovetop burners. Do not use in conventional or toaster ovens.
• Supervise children when they are handling warm dishes with a cozy.
• For best use, position the strap on the outside of the cozy, directly beneath the bowl, and make sure the bowl fits securely inside the cozy.
• Inspect your cozy periodically for signs of wear, thinning, or damage. Discontinue use if the cozy shows significant wear.
